Local processing — no data transmitted
This generator creates a PNG QR code in seconds, directly in your browser — for a URL link or to share WiFi access. No data is transmitted to a server. The file is instantly downloadable, without sign-up, at resolutions up to 1024 × 1024 px. No account required, unlike Q*R Code Generator or Q*RCode Monkey.
Use cases
- Restaurant menu or takeaway card — point to your PDF menu or online ordering page.
- Digital business card — encode a LinkedIn link, a profile, or your personal site.
- Shared WiFi access — encode the WiFi password for your customers or guests.
- Link to a website or social media page — share your online presence without typing a URL.
- Long URL → shorten before encoding — a QR code encoding a 200-character URL is dense, hard to scan, and impossible to print small. By first using the URL shortener, you get a 6-character code that generates a QR code up to 4× less dense, readable at a distance, and printable at 2 cm.
Frequently asked questions
- Does my QR code expire?
- No. The QR code is a PNG image generated locally in your browser. It does not depend on any server and has no expiry date.
- Does the QR code work on iPhone and Android?
- Yes, all modern smartphones can scan a QR code directly with the native camera app, without any third-party app.
- Can I put this QR code on a business card or printed flyer?
- Yes, the downloaded PNG is high resolution. Choose a size ≥ 512 px for sharp printing.
- Is my data sent to a server?
- No. QR code generation is entirely local, in your browser. No data is transmitted.
- How do I create a WiFi QR code?
- Select WiFi mode, enter your network name (SSID) and password, then download the QR code. Your customers or guests simply scan the code with their smartphone to connect automatically — no password entry needed.
- Why isn't my QR code scanning?
- The most common causes: QR code too small when printed — below 2 cm, most smartphones struggle to read it; choose a size ≥ 512 px before printing. Target URL expired or unreachable — the QR code itself works, but the page it points to no longer exists or the server is offline. Insufficient contrast — a light grey code on white, or a coloured code on a dark background, will not be detected; black on white remains the most reliable combination. URL too long — a QR code encoding a 200-character URL is so dense it becomes hard to scan even at close range; shorten the URL first to reduce density. Degraded image — a QR code that has been photographed, recompressed, or printed at low resolution loses its modules and becomes unreadable.
- My URL is very long — how do I get a more scannable QR code?
- A QR code's density depends on the number of characters encoded. A 200-character URL produces an overloaded QR code, hard to scan, requiring large print. The solution: first use the Lejumo URL Shortener to get a 6-character short link (e.g. lejumo.com/abc123), then encode that short link as a QR code. The result is up to 4× less dense, scannable at 2 cm on a business card.
